Shedding Shanty
« on: Jan 14, 2007, 06:47 PM »
I bought a HT Polar Magnum Escape this year.  I've been out perhaps 10 times with it.  Today I noticed that the inside material is peeling/flaking.  The outside material is good but all over you can see these quarter/half dollar sized spots where the inside coating is coming off.  Is there anything I can coat the inside with to stop/fix this?  Is this normal wear and tear or does this seem like cheap material?

I don't know if these spots leak but they sure do let the light in.

There is not going to be much you can do with it. If it were me it would get returned. That is not what I would call quality product to do that after only ten trips.

Just spoke online with a rep from Cabelas.  Talked to her about returning it and mentioned that I was concerned about the time to get it shipped back and get another shanty.  Asked if I could return it after the season was over and she said no problems, that I had up to a year to return it if I wasn't 100% satisfied.  So come ice out its going back and I'll most likely get a Frabril or Clam.

I love Cablea's!   :D
