Niagara county first ice
« on: Dec 20, 2019, 02:03 PM »
Finally managed to get out onto first ice here in WNY. Got onto a small pond near my house near Olcott. Only 2 inches of ice but nice and clear and enough to hold up all 150 lbs of me, walking with a spud of course. Managed a decent largie and a couple gills including one on one of my hand tied flies. Enough to hold me over till after this warmup. Anyone else getting out on any small ponds here in Western NY?

Very nice, glad to see that you got out. I've been itching to go for awhile now. Unfortunately, you are not going to see me on 2 inches of ice ever. Be safe my friend

Fishing is like a pizza, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good!
