Unfished Pond
« on: Mar 20, 2019, 06:59 AM »
I live on a 100 acre pond and have 200 feet of frontage. No body has drilled a hole at all this winter. I usually fish it a few times when im too lazy to go anywhere else and a couple of the neighbors fish it sometimes. Not this winter, it has been dead quiet. Its shallow and mostly bass and pickerel but the lady next door caught a 8.1 lb largemouth bass last summer. Maybe I will fish it after the rain, maybe not.
If you fish the wrong lure long and hard enough it will eventually become the right lure!

Some ponds and small lakes have low oxygen levels when a snow cover is dense enough to block out sunlight  fish go into a very inactive mode. You might be wasting your time.

You may do very well also. Especially if there hasn't been alot of fishing pressure.
Fishing is easy. Catching is the hard part.

I have 3' of snow on my lawn and the conditions down back on the pond are really not good for my 3 year old grandson. If the rain melts it down so he can get around I will take him for his first ice fishing trip. This winter has been horrible up here to take any of the little critters out.
