Welcome to the site! Where are you located?
GPS mapping is pretty important. Get the Navionics app on your phone. They come up shallow to feed in low light conditions, and then they fade back to deeper water. Look for shoals, shelves, points, coves ,or islands where shallow water meets deep water access. Fish shallow in low light (dusk/dawn) and move deeper all other times. Punch lots of holes and move around. Walleye can be pretty finicky feeders during the day. Best bet is dusk/dawn; but always make sure the ice conditions are safe and you are familiar with the lake when venturing out in the dark. Hope it helps!
