ice around marquette
« on: Mar 15, 2006, 05:13 PM »
Hello,  I will be in Marquette next week, March 23-27.  I have been watching the weather and it looks like it will be warming up.  I was wondering if you think that I may get a chance to go ice fishing safely.  I will be travelling up from Alabama, any suggestions or advice will be welcomed.  Thanks.  [email protected]

hi there,
well in central to south border we have on average 30 plus inches of ice.you'll need a heck of a long warm spell to be worried about thickness
good luck

thanks, greenback.  I got worried reading all the posts about ice out and people getting their boats out.  I don't have much experience with ice.  I got to go ice fishing last year and have been wanting to go back since  (I didn't catch anything).

no problem at all,if your passing through wpg u should try your luck on the red river the greenbacks should start hitting.usually around mid march till the end of the season we spank them hard!!90% of them are females and full of eggs, but there are some beautiful mounts!!
well till next time shancooper
