Unless we get a big warm up there should be safe ice all over both lakes be then.  The usual suspects to fish are Big Cove and Thirstys on Lake Mitchell and the causeway and Kenwood  Park on Lake Cadillac.  There are several other places.  check with Pillgrams Village when you get there and they should have some recommendations.

I just came from Cadillac and the ice on Cadillac looked bad in town side. No tracks on it and areas looked like they just froze by the DNR ramp

Is there any other lakes around that region that would be better to fish?

Lake missasaukee in lake city is a real good lake although i havent heard of ice conditions... Scout2 usually goes by there he might have some ice info... A lot of smaller lakes northwest of it that probably get a lot less pressure that im sure hold fish as well

Lake Missaukee was open last weekend in many spots. UI went by there yesterday and it was frozen but I did not see anyone fishing on it. There are a lot of smaller lakes that have 8 to 10 inches of ice but I will not name them because of there size. The one I have been fishing has at least 10 inches on it with no snow on top

I was just told they are fishing Lake Missaukee heavy today. I would be very careful and use a spud going in or out because I am sure there is some thin ice in spots. Be safe and good luck
