Lowrance hook2-5 ice machine or Humminbird ice helix 5

Going to buy a new graph for ice fishing. Will be fishing next to my son a lot and he uses a Humminbird Helix 5 Chirp Ice model. Retails for $500. Looking at the Lowrance Hook 2-5 splitshot Ice Maxhine with chirp also. Retail for $400. Wondering if anyone has fished side by side with anyone else and has information on if there was any interference problems.

Have not used it with any other units. The new gen-2 units fixed a interface issue. Comes with the ability to use Navionics maps, once ice is done it will be my new open water unit. Has built in gps.
Hodges Marine has them right now for less than $450.00, with free shipping in the US. I think it took like 5 days from placing order to delivery. Good luck with what ever you ge!

I have the Helix 5 G2 CHIRP GPS with the ice transducer and really like it.  I was talking to a friend who is well connected with Lowrance and asked him about their offerings and he indicated that Lowrance has nothing close to 'Bird for on ice applications.  Open water is a different story. 

I used my 'Bird next to a Marcum VX-1i flasher and had no interference issues at all.  I have not used it beside a Lowrance product though.

I was looking and there are a couple of videos that show the 5 ice surrounded by other units and the ir settings take the interface right out! Was pretty impressed! Keep it safe! JDL

Do u have a link to those videos on the Lowrance. I have not been able to find any type of video or review on the hook 5 gen 2
