Amsoil 2 stroke saber oil
« on: Dec 10, 2018, 04:30 PM »
If anyone hasn't tried this amsoil saber for 2 strokes u got to give it a shot. What a difference in quality and performance. Ratios can be ran as Lean as 100:1. It seams crazy to run 100:1 in a engine that calls for 40:1 but it works awsome.

My concern, which I'm sure other's also have, is going with lower ratio and chancing something bad happening to the motor.  I've heard lots of good things about Amsoil but my concern remains.

I had the same concerns as you, so I called Amsoil and talked to a petroleum engineer. He answered my questions and explained to me how Amsoil Saber works in a 2 stroke engine. I have used Amsoil Saber mixed around 80:1 in every 2 stroke I own for many years. A couple years ago I gave my son a small 2 stroke snow blower that is about 35 years old. I have done a couple of belt changes on it and I think it is still running on the third or fourth spark plug since new. I have a 2 hp 2 stroke cultivator that is the same age and still runs like new. No black stuff coming out of the exhausts and they are east to start after they have been stored. I will recommend Amsoil Saber.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Amsoil guarantees that all 2 cycle machines will perform to all specs even at the 100:1. They recommend 100:1 in pretty much all 2 cycle. That also does not void any warranty the motor has.

Amsoil is great stuff.
I purchased an ultralight with a 503 Rotax in it at 500 hours years back.  I immediately switched to Amsoil and absolutely ran clean without fouling any plugs, ever, in over 300 hours (sold it at that point).  That engine ran very well on the Amsoil mix.  Faith in something comes very suspiciouslly for something that is 2-5k ft. up in the air.

I don't understand how running an oil/gas ratio of 100:1 wouldn't void a manufacturer's warranty if they specify a 40:1 or 25:1 ratio.  I would think they'd use that to avoid honoring any warranty they give on the motor.

It's because the amsoil performs just as good as reg. 2 cycle oil but you need half the oil. Their oil is that good. Even old machines that call for 25:1 they will tell you to use 80:1-100:1.

Ok I understand the part about Amsoil being that good but it just seems like a no brainer that the motor manufacturer would say you used half the recommended oil we specify so we're not honoring the warranty.

Every 2 stroke I own runs on 100:1 Amsoil. Leaf blower, weed eater, chainsaw and snowblower, if it burns oil its got Amsoil in it. I have a snowblower that is over 25 years old and it has ran on Amsoil its entire life, still runs as good as new and believe me it gets used. I just run about 2 gallons of whatever regular mix oil (usually 50:1) it calls for through the motor when I buy something new as a break in and then its 100:1 Amsoil from there on out. Stuff is awesome, I've never fouled a plug and I love the fact that it barely smokes! I know this almost sounds like a sales pitch but its all my family runs in 2 stroke motors, my father even ran it (at 80:1) back in the 70's in his snowmobiles without issue and let's just say they weren't stock motors either.  ;)
