Fish Trap guide
«

Hello,
I was in Dick's sporting goods last night and was looking at the fish trap guide does any body that owns one of these ever put those folding chair's in them. is there enough room? The reason I ask is I would like a flip over, but do to space constraints I can't get a bigger one. The majority of the time it would be me and my two kids.

Three people would get a little crowded and frustrating especially if you use electronics / heater .

You might be able to get by with a modification to the seating. You'd have to remove the exisiting seats and mounts and make new ones up to maybe be able and convert it into a bench seat. It will still be elbow to elbow.

Just my 2 cents, but I just bought a Frabill Trekker ($250 on sale at Dunhams). Its a flip-over that i believe is just a little bigger (89x60 74lbs) and a little lighter then the guide. It comes with two seats and i think there would be plenty of room to add another (I'm 6'1 220lbs and my fishin buddy is 6'5 285lbs and we have plenty of room). Might be a little tight for 3 but it could work

I've got an Eskimo Grand Caravan. I love the room I have.
78" wide with a full length bench seat
102" from front to back when set up
84" High in the middle
I can fish 3 comfortably on the bench seat and a fourth on a bucket in the front corner.
The bench seat is nice. I don't know if I'd ever get a shelter with bucket seats. It's so versatile.
Big Buddy heater in the oppsite front corner, Vexi and Aqua-vu on the ice by the holes.
The sled fits nicely into a shortbed pickup.
Go big.

if you wanted to add another seat you could probably drill new holes and move the seats over more and there will be enough room in the middle for a 5 gallon bucket.

Frabill ranger xl room for 3 no problem.
2 of the best seats on the market and the third guy gets a bucket.

I have somebody sitting on a bucket on the ice. Flip the top and drill the guy a hole in the top left corner, and have you holes in front of your seats (to his left). he sits in top right corner, in front of the zipper. I still had room for the heater and vex.
hope this made sense

I have modified my guide to sit one to three -- I redrilled the holes over for the two existing which helps with the bucket in the middle -- and also redrilled dead center for one huge one man -- after taken the other bracket and seat out -- helps with the weight if you fish alone
