Seems to be a design flaw issue by Ardisam. The centering ring down by the blades and even the type of finish on the centering ring seems to be what causes the problems. Ion (made by Ardisam) had the same problem last year with the new Ion X's because of the wrong finish on the centering ring cause major ice up on the centering ring and blades and they had to recall the auger part of the Ion's for replacement. You might want to contact Eskimo or Ardisam to see if this is the same issue and if there is any recall or warranty replacement for it to resolve the issue.
let it go. Iceholehen - just make sure you clean good in the hole before your done so nothing has a chance to build up.
spray it with cooking spray that will help when you get it cleared off
I bought a spray to keep snow and ice from sticking to the inside of my snow blower. It seems to work, so maybe it work on ice auger flighting as well.
