"I Love to catch fish" Part #1
« on: Feb 24, 2006, 07:54 PM »
Well, another one of them good cold breezy days again, had to break up the Ice this morning to make it to the Honey Hole, but with a little better success today, boating 87 keeper's,we stayed on top of fish all freakin day long,my arm is still tired from reeling,it could be a evening in the Jacuzzi for Ole Jimmy, anyway these fish are being caught right in the weeds, and boy they we're sure there today, wanna thanx Smitty for the trip, when it comes to a Captain, this man is hard to beat, seen a couple more boats out panfishing today,I think they got tired of watching us catch e'm,so they packed up and left, then it was all ours all to our lonesome, and we simply had a BLAST................. .

Hard to beat a beautiful sunset, with a livewell full of slab GILLS

Here I am with a 9 inch gill

Our first double of the Day

Panfish Finatics

Talk about a mess of fish...........

Sure would like to know where summit lake is? I guess that is where you caught all of them nice gills. I cant believe this winter. We either dont have safe ice or just a little too much to launch a boat. I live in N.W. Indiana 30 miles from Gary. Would love to take the boat out and get some slabs, if I only knew where to go. Please help. signed: desperate

Hey Jimmy, sounds great is there all open water right now? Give me your number and I will call you very soon. How big is this lake, and where is it located exactly? (what town). What is the norm? size wise and also, are there decent crappies as well? I will be talking to you. Thanks a lot for the invite.

Definately give Jimmy a call.  He is a great guy, and will definately put you in the right areas to catch fish.  My advice is to purchase your bait before you head down there, one bait shop was still closed at 9:30 AM during prime good ice conditions, and the other was sold out of spikes, so bait is at a premium down there.  Luckily Jimmy gave me a dozen or so spikes, which is all I needed to catch my 30 or so gills I got that day in a few hours, I had beemoths but for some reason I am not confident using beemoths through the ice.
Real fisherman don't yield to the weather.

I won our high school ice fishing tournament on bee moths, they would not quit biting them which i guess is a good thing
