OK everyone, I do believe that it is now without a doubt over for the year.  So, focus is moving towards open water.  I hope to spend more time on the water this year.  I have always fished mostly ponds.  So, my lake knowledge is minimal.  Let's hear your favorite lake in Indiana or lower Michigan for catching large or small mouth bass.

Now this is my cup of tea. My favorite lake in the entire state for bass (and I have fished a ton of them) is Clear Lake. It is absolutely full of smallmouth and has an incredible Largemouth population as well. Lake Wawasee is probably my second favorite lake, it too has a ton of both largemouth and smallmouth, although the largemouth win out on numbers. West Boggs in southern Indiana is probably the hottest all largemouth lake in the state right now. It reminds me a lot of Sylvan about 10 years ago, except the fish are bigger. Patoka Reservoir is also very good and has the potential to produce a 10 pounder.

I would have to say for my area (middletown) both Geist and Summit Lake would be my picks.  Caught numerous fish in the 3-6LB. range on Summit last year.  Caught hundreds in the 13-13 1/2" range, hope they grew over the winter.  Geist is also a great bass lake it's just too crowded and too expense to fish all the time

Either Patoka or Monroe, both produce pretty decent bass.

One of the best places to catch a toad smallie anyday would have to be Freeman or Shafer.  Caught three brownies over 5 last year.  Some pig greenies also.  Adam Wright
