My new auger combo
« on: Nov 30, 2017, 04:24 PM »
My new auger is finally assembled.  I can make it shorter or I can make it longer.  Set up as is, it’ll drill ~ 28” which is way more than I’ll ever need in nw Pa.  I can drill up to 8” of ice without even bending over which is what we get ice-wise on average around here.  Weighs in at 16.75 lbs., so I picked up about 4 lbs. over the M18 Fuel Drill/Clam Plate/K-Drill combo.  I think the weight pick up will be worth it for speed, ease of drilling and not throwing ice chips everywhere like the K-Drill does.  I have two 9ah batteries and two 5ah batteries so I’m not worried about the extra draw on the batteries from the Mud Mixer.  I should be able to drill to my hearts content with this.  Special thanks to prospector for leading the way on the basic setup.  I can’t wait to try her out!

Invite me up when the walleyes are biting on Erie and I’ll let you try it!  I’ll even buy the bait and the beer and steaks for dinner and....well, you get the idea.  LOL  ;D ;)

Nice!

The only improvement would be to get a Cold Snap cover for the blade.

Is one made for the Power Point Head?   The Nils covers are pretty flimsy and cheap.  TIA

  Nice, now you need ice.
Cold Snap covers work with the power points too.
