New. For me for February..going to dip the boat tomorrow on Presque lsle bay temps In the 60s. With no ice this year...Perch and crappies...to catch...

It's a first for me to, never saw this before in Northeastern Pa.  Yeah a warm up for a week but never loose all the ice on lots of lakes.  Jack Frost needs to take care of Mother Nature so she get's her act together.

Soft water trip to Erie was a fun trip great perch bite outside temp 63    Water temp 34. 5 to 6 mph wind from the southwest..made a nice chop...bite was great. Jigs tipped with  Erie shiners.. was the ticket ..fished with  Captain54.     2 limits of 30 each  also 2 steelhead..

2nd trip more of the same great perch bite...2 hr drive worth it for us...Captian54 and I had a day you dream about  2 trips 120 perch  jigs tipped with Erie shiners..jigs tipped. With wax worms...till next time.....😅😅😅😅😂

Well it figures, we loose the ice and now we get a good cold snap to lock up the lakes just in time for the weekend to mess up the fishing.

yup, I was all set to get the kayak out and paddle Brady's lake but it was 6 degrees at my house. If there was half a ft of ice I'd be on it right now but with this weekends cold snap, it's just too cold with no walkable ice. Oh well, I gotta make a new paddle leash anyways.

Well it figures, we loose the ice and now we get a good cold snap to lock up the lakes just in time for the weekend to mess up the fishing.   

Thats what we contended with down here in SEPA all winter. Skim ice most places in dec, Jan & feb. Now we finally have open water & with the  :%$#!:wind we have white caps. Almost like fishing the surf. Except the wind chill is freezing your guides.
