I run trufuel 40 to 1 in my jiffy and it runs good. started right up this year with last years gas in it and ran fine
Synthetic oils can be run at a lesser amount because of the lubricating properties of the oil. If you are worried about it than add some more oil. Make sure it is synthetic tho. If you need some I have a large bottle of amsoil sabre that I can give you some of.
The trufuels have an extended life. Check the label, you may be able to save the fuel left in the tanks. I use it in chainsaws and trimmers and just leave the fuel in all winter for next summer.[/quote thank you the fuel I mixed up last year was pump gas 87 octane with husky HP synthetic 2 stroke oil only good for 30 days . the VP 40 to 1 is non ethanol fuel premix just like the true fuel and is what I'll be using in my auger from now on true fuel 40 to 1 uses 93 octane non ethanol fuel shelf life of 2 years Vp 40 to 1 uses 94 octane non ethanol fuel with a shelf life of 2 years and for those who are brave stihl makes a 50 to 1 that uses 95 octane non ethanol fuel with a shelf life of 3 years I did my research but was worried that less oil would cause long term damage to the engine thanks for all the input !!!!!
need some iceshanty input I have an older 3 hp techumseh AV520 Jiffy legend model 31 auger 1994 I just had the carb rebuilt by Eric's small engine repair in Ware got his name off the jiffy on ice repair center list it runs mint now Eric said the ethanol in todays fuel damages the pump diaphram and fuel system and recommends I run ethanol free fuel in it to avoid future repairs there are a few to choose from and they come in quart cans of either 40 to 1 and 50 to 1 premixed using high octane fuel VP uses 94 octane with synthetic 2 stroke oil and fuel stabilizer the sticker on the fuel tank says 24 to 1 Eric suggested I add half ounce more two stroke oil to the quart of VP ethanol free 40 to 1 premix fuel to make it 24 to 1 that jiffy recommends I know absolutely nothing about 2 stroke engines but I know 40 to 1 mixture uses less oil than 24 to 1 thats about it will using 40 to 1 burn out the engine prematurely ? any input on this would be greatly appreciated thanks bunches
My jiffy runs great on the 40:1 trufuel. Always had issues with the 24:1 with the carb gumming up. Won't run anything else in it.
