And i am sure there are lots of lakes in sask that most people don't even know about, and i am sure these would all be great lakes to fish.

Although I have not fished every lake in Saskatchewan I have fished all of the ones on the first list...I have to say that there is no way that Biggest Perch is  Pasqua....what about Long Lake at Collingwood or or great winter locations.

However, the rest seem pretty good....for Pike I could also argue that if you time it right on certain parts of LL in late ice there are some monster pike.

No one said you guys had to fish every where, just wondering where you guys like the most or have had YOUR best success.  These have been mine, I have been fortunate enough to fish all over, but not definately not everywhere.  Just wondering where team Sask likes to go.
And harvey, agree with LL and pike, it is on the list just listed as long, but perch are huge on pasqua.  I have seen a lot of absolute monsters come out of there, and as a whole the average size seems to be bigger to me.  THats just what I have found,  two years ago I was able to find the big pods of perch, and wouldn't keep one under 11 inches.  Wish I could find them like that again, but they are in there gauranteed.
Collingwood is a grea fishery as well, I just personaly havent had it that good there, may have hit bad days, but at any rate- your thoughts?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new in the IceShanty forum. I am interested to try ice fishing and I don't know  the ice fishing culture. What are the do's and don'ts that are observed by the ice fishing enthusiast. I live here in Regina and I will appreciate it very much if somebody from Regina can show me the ropes in the arts of ice fishing.
I had a question about the fish terminology the Tulibee and Dogs? What are the real name of this fish? I have not read this names in the Saskatchewan fishing guides.
Please enlighthen me. I am willing to learn the lingo and the tricks of the ice fishing sports. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Terem

Tulibee are just like a whitefish, but tulibee are extremely wormy (parasites in meat), and they have an under bite, whitefish have an overbite.  Thinks thats the way it gows, or else the other way around, if its at the Fort, gaurantee tulibee.  As for dogs- they are freshwater cod, or known as dogfish, mariah, or just plain disgusting and get it off my hook as quick as possible.  A lot of guys leave them on the ice to rot,  >:(plain ignorant of their amazing taste, low numbers, and slow reproduction.   again I say  >:(
