May want to check the electronics board down below. Every unit made has been debated and reviewed. Also do some you tube on the different models and see what might work for you. You don't have to spend a lot of money to catch fish.

Good luck.

Hi, four straight flasher, any of the humminbird are great.  I started with a 35 and it is great.  I would say find a sonar unit, most birds have flasher screen and sonar.  I think you can find a helix 5 for $200.  You can also send in the open water transducer that comes with it and get an ice Ducer for free.  Not sure if many people realize that.  I made my own shuttle out of pvc and put it in a back pack.

I own two lowrance units a elite 4x and a x67c  got to fish with a buddy with a vexilar.. his vex put my lowrace to shame when the lowrance unit gets cold the screen slows down on my lcd lowrace units and cold never phased the vex !! I know hummingbird helix 5 and lowrace hook 5 etc.. are all that for soft water but when my lowrace gets cold it gets slow..  If I was to get another I would go for vexilar.. my self..

Started out with a Humminbird 35. Good flasher but seemed loud to me. For some reason I just didn't like the noise so I would up getting a Marcum LX7 and absolutely love it. So many things you can do with it and absolutely quiet obviously. Like previous posters have stated, a lot of it depends on your budget. Find a store that has them all on display and play with them and see what you like. Best thing to do when it comes to picking out electronics.

I bought the Vexilar FL20 double vision last winter. I absolutely love it! My son regularly utilizes the camera. He loves videoing the action with his phone.
I use the flasher. This device should be at the absolute top of any ice fisherman's wishlist. Our fish catching production skyrocketed when comparing before and after performance.

Entry level the Bird Ice 35 is most bang for your buck imho, bout 300 bucks.  If your willing to spend more Marcum and Vex make some great units in addition to the hummingbirds.

I bought a vexilar fl18 pro pac 2 a couple years back.  I love it.    I run it for like 18 straight hours and it still reads 80% battery.  And  it has great visibility in any conditions and it is built  so solid and nice. It does everything  I want an ice flasher to do and does it perfect.

Anyone have experience with the Deeper Pro?  I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake in buying it, but figured why not since I like to move around to the next spot when I'm on the ice.

I love my Marcum lx-5.  Just a word of advice...once you buy one and start using it don't ever say "ah, i will fish this time without it" because you will miss it on the ice :).  They are game-changers.

i forgot mine once and got onto the ice and found out i forgot it. i had to go all of the way home to grab it. it's kinda like that when you forget your bait too.

Haha this is terrible but true. Not as bad if you are just running flags all day and relaxing, but sitting there over the hole can get pretty frustrating without the electronics...what has ice fishing come to?! haha

Forgot mine last year one time. Too far to drive back.
Guy next to me in the general area had his fl18 with him but he wasn't using it and didn't plan on using it. Told me to use it.... Was very grateful for him lol:)

I agree, they are all better than the alternative of NO FLASHER....it all depends on what is important to you individually, your fishing style, and budget. I have used all three, and I personally fell in love with the Marcum 8" digital LCD screen, but that's not to say you can't catch just as many fish with a Vexilar or Humminbird unit. The Marcum is just mesmerizing to look at  ;D
