THAT is cool! I thought for sure it was going to end with a Mako. Speaking of Mako's, I have a super cool story to share about a seal FOLOWING a a finning mako about 30 or 40 yards directly behind; like a submarine hiding/following in another's baffles, but that's for another thread.....

I've got a few tuna and shark stories too.. as you said.. for  a different place and time.

seeing as this thread has evolved into  a bizarre catch ....no catch thread... I'll share one of many "bizarre" occurrence's I have witnessed striper fishing... I fish for trophy striped bass it is my passion.. 4 -5 nights a week June through October...most of my time is spent casting and trolling live eels. On a foggy damp night back in the mid 80's while trolling eels on Joppa flats I had a "soft" strike on one of the lines... I  set the hook and immediately knew it was a small fish .. it was no match for the tackle I was using and I proceeded to skip it across the water... almost immediately the water around the fish exploded and my drag screamed.. after a 10 minute battle I netted a 38lb striper...lodged in it's throat were the spines of that poor little 16"er that originally ate my eel...I've seen striped bass do some bizarre things in the almost 50 years I've been catching them.. that night was one of the  most memorable..
Great story, Roccus! I can just see that happening and you dealing with it.  :)
And like you said, I'm sure it's one of many you've seen ...

As far as I'm concerned, Bring Them On.
Ice season is waning fast and stripers, tuna etc. is approaching.   :)
