Lake Massabesic Ice conditions?

Can anyone give me some info on getting on the ice up there?? If there even is ice??? Im coming up from Haverhill and dont want to waist the gas. I called the bait store and they werent much help.

I haven't been by in about a week but will take a look in the morning on my way home from work tonight.

 Most of the Ice I have seen in southern NH isn't looking very good. I personally would go farther north.

I was just talking to a friend of mine that works for the Manchester water dept right on lake massabesic and he told me the ice was just about gone..That was his report last night..

I work there too. The ice is basically gone, there is more water than ice.

Thanks for the info guys - youre saving me a wasted trip. Down here in Haverhill the ice has been completely gone for almost two weeks. Went out in a boat on the 28th and to my surprise absolutely killed the bass. Mostly on jerkbaits. Got 21 bass between 2 guys and we had a 5-1 and a 5-8 along with three others over 3 lbs.... by far the best day Ive had this early in the year. Good Luck and thanks again for the info.

We had a horrible year for ice in this area - most lakes never even skimmed over 100% and only a couple spots had safe ice because of the warm weather and when we got cold nights they were too windy lock up. Its been a while since Ive been on the site but I plan on checking in more often next winter - I fish a lot and if youre ever looking for info in the North East Mass area feel free to PM me.
