Boyd or Lake John

I am thinking about heading to Boyd or Lake John this weekend for the festivities but can't decide.  Any recommendations?  I've never been to either place.

Can't speak to Boyd.  There is the fishing contest at Cowdry and John this coming weekend.  Plenty of ice.  John has been spotty this year so far.  Some nice 20"+ in there, but hard to catch (they are feeding well on stickleback minnows).  Better luck at the Delaneys, but artificials only, and a slot requirement.  I'll be at the Ds this afternoon and tomorrow morning with my grandson.

John is all trout, much bigger trout in wyoming. Boyd has rainbows and panfish.

Thanks.  I've never fished Colorado but want to make it to one of the derbies this weekend.

Went to Boyd on Tuesday and ran into some 8" to 9" perch.  Drilled about 25 holes until I found em.  Caught enough four a couple fat sandwiches then split before dark.
