My home lake in Crawford county capped last night, entire lake an inch thick!!!!!!!!  It felt so good to walk on water!!!!! I would have walked around more but I didn't want to damage the ice, lol.   Come on 2.5 inches!!!!!!  I am freakin' pumped!!!!!  This 1st ice is going to trigger fish for sure, time to put on the feed bag!!!!!!!  Spud and Spikes!!!!!!!  Oh yeah and hopefully a friend crazy enough to follow????  I love 1st ice!!!!!

2.5 inches!  You're a braver man than I.  Anything less than a good 4 inches and I'm not gonna waste my time.

You could look at walking out on early thin ice in a darker way:

Mr. Darwin is NEVER wrong...
Ice fishin' & turtlin's all I crave...

I was just down at the lake doing my yearly lesson on ice safety.....  I was walking around on an inch of ice, showing my girlfriend that ice will usually make alot of noise b4 you fall through,  I showed her what to do if you do go in and how to get out.  The ice held me pretty good and I didn't go in the drink this year on my ice safety lesson with the family.......Last year not so lucky....   I was in the drink and laughing about it.  I told the kids not to panic when somebody goes in, to keep calm and think things through.   Over coming the fear of falling through is half the battle of getting back out.
