Clam drill plate
« on: Jan 24, 2016, 07:47 PM »
Last year I bought the clam drill plate, put a rigid 18v gen4x drill with 4.0 batteries on it and used a 6inch Finbor auger, had no problem with this setup drilled thru 20 inches of ice without any problems.  This year I bought a 8 inch Finbor auger drills ok but when it gets to the end ready to punch thru it stops, my rigid has 60lbs of torque,  just wonding if anybody is using a clam plate with a 8 inch auger and what drill you using, I think I may need to upgrade my drill to one with over 700lbs of torque, any information is appreciated. Thanks

I just today started using this exact set up. Nils 8",clam plate, rigid gen5 brushless drill with 5.0 battery. Thing is a beast. Drilled 20 holes with no hesitation.
