I can't wait to meet some of you guys.  The help I have gotten from this site so far this year would have taking me years to learn if I didn't get frustrated and quit. Thanks to all.

This year I have meant more shanty members than before.  Even with our crappy luck on the weather situation.
All I need is ice and the fish will come.

Yeah i have met 5 or 6 members from the site including the almighty Icelunatic. Ever since I have met these guys, they have been really the only guys I have been going out fishing with. Even if we don't get the bite from the fish like we are always expecting we still have plenty of laughs on the ice.

So far I've met Bussman, Bussboy and Hood, all on our Lake champlain trip a couple weeks ago.  It is good to meet these guys we are always talking to, and maybe even soon we'll be able to talk about all the ice fishing adventures we (hope) are happening around the north country......

to whom it may concern, i give open water and ice fishing lessons usually every sat. thru tues weather permitting and safe ice. everyone can fish with me and if i like fishing with you, you will know. i fish at the fair haven coal docks every fall and winter 90 % of the time and always catch fish. i drive a dodge window van and usually wear a 4xlt orange camo parka so you cant miss me. being 6-6 425 lbs makes me more visable 2 lol. hope to meet more knuckle heads from here, tight lines and have a safe ice season big dave out.

So far, I have met Bussman (who really taught me to ice fish...thank you so much George!), Bussboy, Pikie, Hood, FishingKing, Bigredonice, Slipbob, RGfixit, Baginwal, Oz, Billybono, Oz, crappieslayer22, USMC130, NY angler, and more (sorry if I left anyone out!)... It has been an enjoyable time fishing with anyone that I've fished with, and this weekend will only add to my list.  I'm going to get to meet and fish with Caroga Kid, Coldbum, Ozzy, UPSTATE ICEMASTER, flag runner, and more...I can't wait!!  ;D

Met a good size crew of shanty members on Loon this past Sat..  We didn't get much fishing done because of the wind, but got too shoot the bull.  What a blast!  Thank god for a web site like this one.  Hope to meet more members before the winters over.  I hope that Conesus locks up for the 18th!

Hood,,,we've lost almost all of it here, never in a January have I witnessed whitecaps on the bay, nor waves pounding the shore.  We had winds strong enough here to pulverize anywhere from 8-12 inches of solid black ice and make it disappear....check out my thread in big water/jefferson tonight....

I've got a meeting with the fire department tomorrow about the derby this weekend and need to tell them the ice conditions so they can decide whether to hold it/cancel it.....all I can say right now is that it's FUBAR.....
