No Ice No Problem
« on: Dec 23, 2015, 07:46 PM »
Can't ice fish here in N.Y. and won't be for weeks. Christmas Eve, 64 degrees. So we are going to fish off the "Dock on the Bay" right where we ice fish. It will be a once in a lifetime fishing fun day. we have checked it out and the large perch are biting. Will we (my son Lucas and I) EVER fish Christmas Eve at 64 degrees again AND catch plenty of fish? Not likely. The 64 degrees is an all time record and us going on this day means tomorrow will be a lifetime memory.
Merry Christmas to all.
Wish you all your special fishing memories yet to come.
We let the fish go and my Dad told me I had a wish. I wished the fish would live.

I'm guessing a reply of, "East coast" is about as close as you're gonna get!  ;D
The next time you think you know it all, try telling someone else's dog what to do.

I am happy to reply WHERE. I know we need our "honey holes" and sometimes it has to be kept secret to preserve good fishing.
Sodus Bay, New York. I think any where in the bay will be good. We were just north of Eagle Island fishing from shore on Leroy Island. We could only get small minnows. The larger ones or 2 on 1 hook produced the best results. Larger Emerald shiners or larger fat heads were the best.
as soon as I can find some pike shiners (prefer "goldies"), we will return and fish for pike/bass and report here. It may be this coming week.

Merry Christmas to all.
