Ft. Peck Open Water
« on: Mar 13, 2015, 11:39 PM »
Thought I would try and catch you all before everybody skips town.....the soft water is coming!!!  I've fished both Hell and Rock Creek each only once, and am looking for advice on an upcoming trip with my own boat.  For May-June, which is best?  Will be looking for the usual suspects.  Eyes, Pike and Smallies.

Thanks in advance!  Figure there are still more eyes here than MFF.

Ether place is a good bet. Just hit the muddy points in the evening and mornings. Some spots are better than others and its just about spending time on the water to find the sweet spots. Pretty simple fishing on Ft. Peck.

Thanks for the reply eastmont.  I love exploring a lake to find my own productive areas!!  Just wasn't sure if one area was typically better than the other in the Spring.  Now that I have a capable boat, I'm dying to get up there on my own!

If you want to get away from the crowd, I'd stick to the dry arm. But early season in hell creek isn't bad. How bug if a boat do you have?

Went to Rock on somebody else's boat last year and did ok.  You can definitely get away from it all on Peck!!!  I bought a new Lund Tyee 2075 last year.  It fishes like a dream compared to my previous boat!

Does anyone have a contact for boat rentals? Hell Creek marina only rents out pontoons I believe.
