Oakland Rec Kids Fishing Frenzy

Just wanted to post a huge public ‘thank you’ to the Oakland Rec Dept, the Lions Club and ‘gamefisher’ for putting on another incredible kids fishing event yesterday.  We went out with seven or eight family members and made lots of memories.  To top it all off, my 4 yo was lucky enough to put a fish on the board and still has not stopped talking about how excited he was to hear his name called at the derby.  Never seen him so excited (and he was especially proud because his grampy was there to see it).   Every time he looks at that trophy, he’s going to remember that fun day of fishing with his granddad and the whole family.  As a dad, I’m really thankful that events like this exist and everybody involved with it should be extremely proud of the work they do to make this happen.  Looking around at all the smiles in the gym at weigh in, we weren’t the only ones that had a pretty special day.  Here’s a few pics from yesterday and thanks again!

   I wish you could have seen the look on his face when he came up to the prize table Ryan, priceless!   Nobody, I mean nobody was going to pry that trophy out of his hand, so glad it held up.   The pictures you provided of the young man are outstanding, he has the million dollar smile!  You have your priorities straight Mom and Dad, great stuff.
