Coronach

Anyone ice fish at Coronach Reservoir? I fish there in the summer and was just wondering how the ice is in winter. Of course I figured the ice would be good at the north end of the lake and would probably stay on that end.

If you stay at the very North end against the highway the ice is good.  Stay away from the culvert connecting the main lake to North slough part.  It's straight east of the boat launch, only freezes over when very cold and opens back up again when it's -10.  Not a lake to drive around on but the north end where the shacks and tracks are is usually good

Do anglers do well there in the winter?

Jack is usually a decent bite.  They like yellow 3/8 jig heads with minnows. 

Almost went there today but fished Thompson,  spending the night on the ice and fishing tomorrow instead

Any luck fishin after dark?   Havent had much of a bite from 4:00 on

Caught 4 jack and one walleye since 5pm. Bite is slow now

Anyone been here lately? Is it legal to spear through ice? Regs don't mention it

Check out page 8 in the 2015 angling guide, it tells you all you need to know about spear fishing.  You Cannot spear through the ice unless you want to hang out in the hole yourself.
