Um.... for years we've brought out ATV out without issue.  It is registered with a plate.  Last year we used my buddy's side by side for a day.   I guess you could always load/unload right on the access where folks tend to leave trucks and shantys?

Are you talkin about eagle point on Magog? If so the F&W access is not the ice fishing access. F&W access is on a small creek about half mile up from regular place people access lake. There is a walking path or something that goes over the river before u get to main lake, so ur have trouble accessing there in general. Where people go on is just a little bay on side of the road, not an actual state access.

I have seen people park out on eagle point road inside wma, on edge of lake. was wondering about atv use up there.
I know about the river access,  not sure about where you are talking about keith? Unless it is where I am asking about? is it ok to use wheeler there?

The only official access on that side of the lake is on north derby road about a mile before the little bay where everyone actually goes on so if the site says anything about restrictions at the F&W access it is not talking about the little bay where everyone goes on and parks. That is not a state access and as such no state access rules would apply. Now there may be a derby ordinance about driving an atv on a road that may come into play. Note the pic bellow the purple is the state access the red dot is the place people actually drive on

yes ,that is where I was asking about. I think that is part of the WMA, and the regs. for the WMA say "no atvs even to access lake for ice fishing". That is why I ask.?... :-\ I would guess it would be ok to park on the ice and unload atv.?? Thanks for your help.

Fantastic map from a GPS I gather?  Folks have a hard time finding depth charts for Magog.  If there could be numbers on the declination lines.....  Yeah, I have to say that from what I know from the 30 + years hard water fishing there, that ATV's are ok.  Again I'd stress having it registered.  Many times my dad would drive all the way up from his house in Brattleboro, (we have a family farm in Coventry) with his ATV on the trailer.  We would off load right on the marsh side of the road, hook up the wheeler to the trailer, load up and head out!  I know we ran into game wardens on some occasions.

Unless something has really changed in the past few years, I'd say you are set.  Also, there isn't any kind of the Kiosk, or F&W board right there where you access the water.

Last year my buddy brought out his Honda side by side when the snow was deep.  At the end of the day I was back at the truck loading up when he came around the corner with the rest of the guys in our party.  Going like a bat out of hell just so he didn't get stuck, they hit a rut which spun them sideways and shot all four of them out of the rig like they were in some kind of weird circus stunt.  They were about 200 yds from shore and by the time I could reach them they were all back on their feet laughing it off.  It could have ended differently.

Snow machines and Wheelers everywhere when I fished on the 29th.  I was deep then, deeper now!  Good luck!!

So must be they don't enforce it. If I knew how to put up a link I would ,lol. Take a look at public uses on the fish and wildlife pdf, it says it in bold letters. Hope nobody gets a ticket...

Right, I see it and it is certainly spelled out.  So the second you take a left onto the ice you are on the lake and no longer on the WMA  and can off load it seems?  No worries with parking right there with over 24" of ice.  Good luck and thank you, for pointing it out.

If you haven't been out there this year I may be able to help if you want to pm me.
