first, thanks for the kind words regarding my mothers passing.
need some ice time therapy, so i went to a local pond. started snowing as i left the house. i became a PIA when my suit started sucking up the melted snow on it, but it stopped an it turned into a nice day. but the turn seemed to shut off the bite.
from 745 to 1000 it was constant flags. one or two up at a time. but nothing big, a lot of the perch, bass, crappie could barely mouth my heavy shiners. about 6 crappie out of 1 hole. by 11 am i was fishing with my last 4 dead bait so i broke out the jig stick. i punched out some old holes around me. jig stick was on fire. each hole produced 5-10 minutes of bite after bite. perch, crappie, bluegills, seeds. but no bass, don't know where the big girls were but they weren't biting.
the dead bait produced the biggest fish. a 1.2 fat crappie and a 2.14 21" pickerel.
here a pics of each species (no pics of the perch, no t worth wasting the pixels ha ha)
pumpkin seed
bluegill
bass maybe close to 2 lbs
a nice 1.2 crappie
nice fatty 2.14 pickerel loaded with eggs
ran me ragged but it felt good
