Jigger Totters
« on: Jan 13, 2015, 12:20 PM »
I am looking for Jigger Toters. IceHogger made them, but they ran out at Sportsmans and I was told Rob is not making anymore. Please advise. Thanks Kenny

Reeltrouble has a jig he made to make them.  Some friends and I used it to make some.

Could you put a paddle/flag or something on the butt section to make it jig automatically in the wind?

Yep.  Many people do.

I'm really disappointed that Rob doesn't make them anymore.  I still get people asking about them all the time.

Reel Trouble has a design for a sail to make your rod jig in the wind . I really like his riggers also .

Reel trouble has a video of one he did that way.

Score, thanks for posting the link.

I'd assume you could vary the card size depending on the speed of wind gusts, might have to make myself one of these bad boys.

Somewhere I have two jigs I made. First one I bent the rod by hand around dowels. The second one I made to use in the press but not sure I seen it when I moved the press. If a time comes that they can't be found in stores I could help someone make some.

There is a similar unit at Sportsman Warehouse in Boise, as you enter the doors on the display table you will see one.   There is also a similar unit made with a plastic frame and metal cross bar on their website, it is called a "Mr. Jigger Ice Rod Holder".

I'm pretty sure Tom had one sitting on his counter last weekend when I was in there.

Give IceHogger some time, he'll start making them again (hopefully).  I know he's had a rough couple of years.

Rob will be back to making them Just give him some time like said above his family has been threw hell :( Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  If ya cant find any i can post photos of the jig so you can make some. The little flag or card works fantastic in the wind ya just have to get use to them moving and not run for them when you catch them out of the corner of your eye lol

I was in Tackle Tom's yesterday.  He indicated to me that he had a good number of them in the back storage area.
