ice is thick in the south
« on: Jan 12, 2015, 03:10 PM »
Went out today with my son and a friend near Madison and filled a 5 gallon bucket with gills and few crappie. We were on a 2 acre farm pond and the ice was about 4.5 inches. Fortunately the rain  did not hurt the ice because the temp stayed in the mid 30's. Can't wait to go again.

Ice all the way to the Ohio River is always a good sign.  Welcome to the sight.

I also saw several pics from Hardy Lake. Looked like quite a few fisherman on it.  Appeared as if several large crappie were landed.
