Juniata river walleye
« on: Feb 12, 2015, 12:44 PM »
Not an ice question but a good one all the same.  Any idea if walleye in the Juniata naturally reproduce.  According to pfbc website stocking stopped for several years, yet walleyes are still in there that are probably from those year classes. Some come up from the Susquehanna snd down from raystown lake? Or are they natural spawned?

They did not stock it with Walleye from 2009-2013, but last year and this coming year both list fingerling Walleye on the stocking report.

sorry you are correct they stocked muskie but not walleye i thought they did. i'm sure they do naturally breed in with them swimming up from Susquehanna and with all they stocked in prior years there is a boat load of walleye in that river they should be starting to bite in a week or two fish at night with shiners or a 4 in white grub worm from a canoe should pound em i always do.
