Alright, fished yesterday, 1/1, from 12:00 - 5:00pm. Crappy time to fish, yep.
started off in 12-13' of water where we had a little structure, didn't mark anything.
Moved to 17', marked a ton of fish!  Caught three blue gill, one was really nice, the biggest I've seen taken out of that lake since it's been dredged, and once nice crappie that taped to 10 1/2", which isn't huge, but it was THICK.  Something unusual for that lake if you had fished the paper thin crappies that were there  last year.

We used waxies, I probably tied on, at minimum, 10 different jigs in varying colors, and that doesn't include the other two that were fishing with me and the changes they made.  We marked fish from 2-5, which is when we moved the shack, but they just weren't interested.  I've read that plastics have been working, but we didn't have any to try.

We got on the ice from the jettie on the south side of the lake, but the one that you find by going west out of town.  A snowmobile went through the ice Monday by the bullhead, so we didn't want to risk finding that thin ice.  Wheelers and snowmobiles were all of the place.  I'd call it a shanty-city out there - waaay more than a shanty town!  Place was packed for Crystal Lake.

It's been fished hard too, hopefully everyone isn't out there keeping limits on every trip!

No problem, hopefully I'll be back out on it tomorrow afternoon, when the front is gonna push through, or Sunday.  Any day, even a bad day, is better on the ice than in the house!
