Heading to Devils
« on: Dec 20, 2014, 02:32 PM »
Nodak guys.   I'm heading up to DL on Friday.   I've never fished the lake , looking forward to it
Im wondering what are the typical colors most guys use . Planning on bringing a ton of jigs spoons ect .
But if there is specific colors I would like to know ahead of time.
Thanks for the help

For perch I have best luck wit buckshot rattle spoons in the Glow Perch or Golden Perch color.  For walleyes I do best with the same colors but bigger size.  I also use Salmo chubby darters and jigging raps in perch colors again.

Perch Patrols fishing reports give some good advice too.  See them at  http://perchpatrol.com/fishing_report.htm.

Good luck!

Wouldn't hurt to throw a few of the new bomb spoons from Clam in your tackle box as well.  Especially if you are fishing deep.

I went fished devils lake last week for 7 days. We did well on walleyes and pike. Caught a few perch but no numbers or size. Walleyes came on gold and silver slender spoons, UV jigging raps, shad raps, dynamic HD ice pink, buckshots, and live minnows. Caught them fishing shallow and on humps. Pike were in the same areas and so were the perch. Woodland resort area was okay for fishing and so was six mile bay. Casino area was good and so was west bay. Ice is drivable and snow wasn't too bad but I'm sure snow has changed. 10$ app on smart phone navionics USA was key to our success.

Good luck to you

We fished by the casino today. More people driving trucks than not.  Ice was around 18 in everywhere we drilled. Fishing was kinda slow for us today.  Weather was beautiful.        Mark

Caught limits of walleye Saturday and Sunday perch patrol couldn't get us on perch      Monday we went to Stump lake caught 27 perch.  It was a tough bite
Guy that fished with me hit a 28" eye.   Made his day.
Should be home later Tonite.   I'll get pic loaded
My HOT bait was #4 rippin rap.   Rest was spoons and heads
