Milwaukee Ice Show?
« on: Dec 12, 2014, 10:05 AM »
Anyone planning on going the next 3 days? We might have a chance to make it over on Sunday, especially given the forecast temps. I saw Clam's Facebook page showed their setup there this morning. Is it worth making it?

If anyone goes today or tomorrow please report back on how it went and if it's worth the hour plus drive. Thanks!

Thorne Brothers will be there in full force. That right there is worth the trip.

I just got back.  I only spent about 2 1/2 hours there and pretty much saw everything.  I was disappointed and expected better since it was put on by the same outfit that does the St. Paul show.  I think I may drive back to see the St. Paul show next year.
While it was pretty small, there were some great deals to be had on equipment from Reeds, Thorne Brothers, and some of the other vendors.

I went today from about 2 to 430. Got a call at 5 saying that I had won the drawing for the new clam auger, however, couldn't get it there because I wasn't currently there. Sucks. On the other hand, I found some pretty good deals. It is a little small, but there are deals to be made. Beaver dams were only forty bucks, tungsten was two for 2-3 bucks. There were some deals on electronics too, but didn't look to hard into them. It was my first time at an ice fishing show. I will be back. If you want to save a buck on the entrance ticket, go to their website and print out a dollar off coupon.

Thanks for the info, we'll see how things go. I've been to good ones before (St. Paul) and some pretty small/bad ones that weren't worth the time.

I thought it was well worth it. Showed up just before 10 AM today made it thru everything in just over 2 hrs but found some good deals at Krueger Farms, DH Customs and Thorne Bros.

We went Saturday and found it to be smaller than we expected.  Still found some good deals though.  Those 2 for $3 Tungstens were a real deal.  I bought 20 and my son used all his money at one booth and bought 25.

While we were split up for awhile, my wife bought me one of the Aquaview Micro II's for $200 from Thorne Bros. plus we got an upgraded case, beanie hat and car charger directly from Aquaview.

The topper of our day was I won the 4 stroke gas auger that HT Enterprises gave away!

I went down Saturday for about 4 hours, I thought it was great with some killer deals on most everything I saw. I picked up a new clam Nanook thermal at a good price and got a bunch of accessories for it, free ice team sweatshirt and hat. Also did a little pull tab game over at the ice force booth and won some suffix line and a nice pair of gloves. Couple of my buddies also drove down from the UP looking for new flashers and both went home with a LX7.

Had a good time and got some sweet stuff. Ni complaints
