The difference between an 8" hole and a 10" hole is.....a 10" hole will usually give you your boot back!

In the food chain of life...its not good to be referred to as: "a good eating size".

Mr. Heater ALL the way. Why haul 2 things on the ice when 1 will do?? Pot or pan of proper size will do the job. Cook food, warm food or boiler water for drinks..........

We've had some chat on this topic recently and I recall that the general opinion was that the Mr. Heater Model MH15C was the preferred style for Colorado. Several writers said that it handles the high altitude better than the Buddy types. The best price I've found so far is at Fleet Farm for less than $40 plus freight. I've been using mine for 10 years or more. The main caveat is that it's not rated for a closed environment such as a popup. Carbon monoxide probably. They do put out some nice radiant heat and will boil a quart of water in about three minutes or so in the cooker posture.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Buddy Heater works great for Johnsonville brats wrapped in aluminum foil, pretty tasty.

Ive used heater/cookers of various brands over the years. They all work fine and boil water quickly. Hot soup or chili dogs with onion and cheese!

Mr Heater is simple and fits nicely in a hut.  I make breakfast burritos the night before a trip and wrap them in foil...yum! :P
