Holy...slow day on the ice...
« on: Jan 02, 2006, 06:31 PM »
Just got in from Sorenson's Beach. Drove on to the ice and was happy to see that it is still at 13 to 15 inches. Was also happy to see other peope out there, althought I didn't chat with them, it was nice to see a few more trucks and autos moving around. There are a few shacks in the area but it looks like the ones just north have moved on to better grounds. By about 10:30 am, we moved to the other side of the lake to see what was happening since nothing was showing up in our spot. There is a bit of a pressure ridge starting to form running north to south with a few curves in it so be careful and keep your eyes open. The rest of the day wasn't to much different than the early morning but there was a few more perch and N pikes showing up but they would only look at the hooks and not even make a move on them. We were in 36 to 38 feet of water so it might have been a little deep.

anyone else out today and if so where and how was the bite?

Hi Pat give us a post when the perch start biting down there.  I was at the north end of Last Mountain today and caght a bunch of dinky perch and a nice burbot. Saw some nice walleye on the cam but they are not hungry. also watched a couple of pike just stare at my jig for it seemed like ages. wouldnt take the bait.

Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.
