wednesday 3/19
met up with newbie G.O.D jschmacher for some mid week fishin at a local pond. it was about 14 degrees when i arrived, dead calm with bright sunshine. barometer was at 30.3..nice day usually means no fish. glad that old saying was waaay wrong. i got set up on 6 FOW with medium shiners. local shops have hard time getting anything bigger for some reason. I had constant flags from 830 to 1045. at one point i had 4 up at once. jschmacher was a bit slower but would make up for it later in the morning/early afternoon. i ended up with a 5 species day: bass, pickerel, crappie, yellow perch and a white perch.
I caught some decent sized bass-4.5, 3.13 and 2.8. Jeff came in with a 4.2, 3.5(?) and another i don't remember (GOD effect)
my bait got to be quite small and all i was getting was perch so out came the jig stick. slaughtered the yellow perch.
as the day went on the water in the holes seemed to get cloudier with a green tint..very strange
enough of the words, here are a few pics...(jeff will add his in)
4.5 bass
3.13 bass
bob the blob perch..i took my shiner out of his mouth and there was another one in there..DOH!
crappie
white perch
bunch of perch from jiggin a hole for less than 5 minutes
a great day for sure!!
some guy came out on the ice with a very thick accent (irish i think)..jeff tackled him and said..'where's the pot o gold'..just kiddin..
he said he was a little drunk and we said that's a requirement on the ice
