Sacandaga
« on: Dec 17, 2005, 07:04 PM »
Does anyone have any info about the condition of the Sacandaga yet. I was told that there has been snow machines on it. Looking forward to getting out there to try out my new slammers on the walleye and pike.

don't know how if any ice is on the Res. but I do know that the water level is at an all time high, so if you go out on the ice this year on the Res. be carefull.

Best part is when they drop the water level this year there will prolly be an 8ft gap between the lake and the ice.. I wonder how that's gonna work out??

As of Sunday the 18th i took a stroll with the auger and came up with 5-6 inches of good ice a couple hundred yards offshore. hopefully it'll stay locked up.

I know parts of it are still very unsafe but i did hear a sled went right across but then again they always do that across the open water...The water is very high so we know it's going to drop yet!
