Fire on the ice
« on: Feb 20, 2014, 05:49 PM »
A couple weeks ago I posted about whether it was a good idea or not to have a fire on the ice. Well, I took you guys advice and called the authorities. PA fish and boat said they had no problem with it but said to call the state park. I did call moraine and the ranger said it was illegal at lake arthur. Just figured I'd follow up.

This is different than a fire. Take a 2 1/2 gal metal bucket, bag of charcoal, fluid. now that's heat.....and throw your burgers in wrapped in foil or whatever you prefer to eat. Never had a problem with that...anywhere. and its a lot less work than bringing firewood.....lol...... ....Deep

The charcoal idea is a good one. When I asked the park ranger about a fire, I did ask about keeping it in a metal trash can but that didn't matter. Thanks for the good idea.

if your just looking to cook something on the ice we've used one of those small portable propane heads, there light weight and work great. we got ours at walmart for around $20 but any sports shop sells them
