West Harbor Reef
« on: Jan 27, 2014, 09:35 PM »
Anyone ice fish on the north east side of west harbor reef ? My grandfather and I used to walk out there and slay the pigs in the winter back in the sixties. We always took our own creek chubs and made our own ice spoons. Anyone remember that. No limit either! I am too old now I guess but was just wondering if any of you guys who go up there have tried it ! Just make sure the ice is safe as I do think I remember our set ups going away from the hole. Good fishing and be safe! Maybe I will check on a ice charter some day? Would like to go with mike sports fishing and relive some memories! Jim

Sounds like it could be a long walk even back in the day. Where did you walk out from? Don't think I'd try to pull a sled that far by hand w/ the drifts bucking me ;).

This is the year to do it. I haven't been out for quite a while myself. But hoping to make  it out
 soon!
