dont let them stop you,
just be more visible than normal and make sure your tip ups are also visible,
i fish NE PA, large and small lakes, never had a problem with snow mobiles

Tell ya the truth there has been days when we wouldnt get a flag untill a sled would rip by. Been a few times when it was slow fishing i would fire up the sled and go out aways and circle the tip up spread. Use branches off if the shore to mark your tip ups so the can see em.

no different than in the summer with jet skis, tubers, rocket riders, and bass boats screaming up and down the lakes.

I like the idea of making your self/equip more visible. black shanty on white snow is as good as it gets imo.  I wouldnt worry much but definatly keep an eye an ear open. If that 2 stroke rippin across gets louder n louder itd be a good time to look around.  I only say this because the jet skiers where I bass fish lack common courtesy, even with kids in the boat.
Keep those hooks sharp, or watch em swim away!

If you have a habit of tossing your fish on the ice don't , use a bucket.  They will run over fish if they don't see them either so Bucket and keep em close..

Had 2 idiots fly by the wife and I early this year. Out of about 20 Snowmobilers these 2 thought it funny to throw snow all over our gear. Not on their way back though. I stood there with my shovel in hand waiting on them to try it again. They slowed down and went around then. They came with in 3 feet of us. If they went out of control they could have killed one or both of us. The rest of the crowd was polite and sharing the lake.

A few years back a friend and I were fishing on a lake near my house that is known as a douche bag snowmobile hot spot. We were out there early, about day break and were the first ones on the lake. Before we knew it there were about 30 snow machines all around us and the fish started biting like crazy. All good until somebody ran over two tipups and thought it was funny. He stopped to tell us what happened and was a total dick about it. Pretty much the same time two DNR officers came walking up to check us. Needless to say, the snowmobiler was issued three different tickets for running over our gear and coming within 250 feet of us, and tickets for no registration and operating an unsafe snow machine. The only riding he was doing after that was right to the shore. We didn't want to press any charges against him for the tipups as long as he was willing to pay for them but the officers saw the whole thing from shore and were quite angry about the whole situation.

haven't had sleds shut the fish down, but ice racing bikes have shut down the fish a few times (every time they hit the ice) so we fish else where now
