New guy checking in.

Been lurking on the site for a few years now, picked up some good information, and figured it’s time to introduce myself add my $.02 and share my experiences with the group.
I'm not new to fishing the Finger Lakes; grew up trolling Canandaigua with my grandfather on his Starcraft holiday. After he passed, I continued boating & fishing with my father & brother until other activities and life responsibilities took over our free time. When the wife & I were dating and during our 1st few years of marriage we keep boating; then the kids can along and changed everything.
Also spend many winters ice fishing with grandfather, father and brother, mostly on Honeoye and Conesus lakes (back in the day I remember alot more perch in Conesus that what's there today). But again, as life changes occurred, I cut back on ice fishing until it was pretty much non-existent. As a matter of fact, my last ice fishing trip before family trips was 15-20 years ago on Conesus, where a 10 year old girl and her grandfather educated me and a co-worker on what a spring bobber is and how it works.
I have a wife and 2 daughters (12 &15), and in the past have involved them in limited fishing. Last winter we started ice fishing, with most trips based out of Vitale park on Conesus Figured it's family friendly place, and the pan fish action would be enough that they wouldn't loose interest.
2 summers ago, we got back into the boating scene, and the old StarCraft was replaced with a new bow rider; although it's set up more for swimming / tubing, fishing is still encouraged and enjoyed. This past summer, the wife and I also got into kayaking, and found that it can be enjoyable harassing the Canadice Lakers from it.
I recently dug out grandpa's old tip-ups and gave them the once-over. For being over 40 years old, they're in great condition, and only needs a little TLC to get then ready to go fishing. Also made some repairs to his home made box sled, so I've got a way to haul everything around.
I'm looking forward to spending time on the hard water this winter and making family memories.

Figured I'd post a bit more to introduce myself, rather then just the standard 3 BS posts to unlock the R&C sub-forums... sorry.
First trip this season was bust.... Got to Canadice Friday afternoon, dropped the sled on the ice then got dressed. As I was getting ready to park, I realized that I forgot to bring along the trout jigs. Loaded back up and headed over to Conesus and brought home a bunch of dink gills.
Hoping the ice holds up the next few day.
