New to Knoxville arrea
« on: Jan 10, 2014, 08:35 PM »
Hey everyone

I just moved to the area from Wyoming, and am looking to try to put some fish in the freezer.  I am living in Pella and tried fishing Roberts Creek a couple times but to no avail.  I am on foot and no shelter, hoping to get into pannies , walleye, bass, and cats through the ice.  Anyone have any suggestions where I might be more successful in my pursuits in the area, or what lakes or land owners  I could talk to for getting onto farm ponds?

Any information or recommendations would be helpful, and greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Lake Ahquabi isn't too far of a drive for you.  We've been pulling decent bluegills out like crazy the last couple weeks.

if you go to Ahquabi, try lake hooper as well, about half a mile south of ahquabi, nothing to big, but loaded with fish, a buddy of mine pulled 25 blues out last weekend, hitting on red

Thanks guys, I will try that this  weekend.  This previous weekend I tried keomah on Saturday and Big Creek on Sunday, no luck at either location.

The other day my buddy and I kept 38 crappies on Roberts Creek. Today I only caught 3.
