Green Lake, Ellsworth (Hancock)   All the fishery reports say its full of big lake trout; still haven't seen one.
I live my life by one basic tenet: big fish eat little fish.

I'm with you Auger Elbow.  Little Ossippee has always been tough for me.  I've fed the yellow perch many a smelt there!  Since it's just down the road from me, I'm sure I'll be back there.   I've been known to be stubborn! LOL

SO FAR IT WOULD HAVE TO BE    SEBAGO.    THATS THE ONLY LAKE THAT I HAVE EVER ICE FISHED AND STILL HAVENT LANDED A FISH.  >:(

SEBAGO IS SUCH A MYSTERY TO ME BECAUSE THERE ARE PLENTY OF FISH TO BE CAUGHT (IE. BLUEFINS PICTURES) BUT KNOWING WHERE TO GO IS THE KEY I GUESS.

Transplant,  I would agree with you on Tacoma Lakes for ice fishing, however I have caught some really large Browns on Sand Pond after spring breakup.  What worked for me was just before dawn or the last light of the day over the sand bar on the east shore with sewn bait on 2 colors.  One short line on the tail of the prop wash and one long.  Largest fish: about 10 to 11#, C&R'd that puppy,  Browns suck on the grill.

My worst ice fishing lake is LAKE GEORGE in Canaan.  I drained that hole and can certify THERE ARE NO TROUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They say they stock it.....   another fish story.....

Same thing for me, but I guess I just didn't pick the right spots.  Not a single flag in 2 days!  :'(
I know they're out there, have seen the pictures, but I'll be darned if I can find them ice fishing.
Are you SURE it's safe to walk on? Looks questionable to me!

A small lake in northern MN called Isaac Lake.  Pounded the snot outta the craps, sunnies, and pike in the summer, but can't find 'em in the winter.  It's only 35 acres and 15 ft. deep, but I can't find anything for the life of me.  Can't even find 'em on the sonar!!!

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.

My challenging lake is Lower Narrows in Winthrop, but I will conquer it this year.  I have yet to catch a fish through the ice there, however now it is my "home" water i will catch something.  I have fished it a few times but just haven't figured out where the fish are.  I have gotten flags but never seen a spool moving on a trap.

It is funny, to hear the different experiences.  I have yet to get skunked on Sebago.  Have had some slow days on Tricky though.

Very soon it will be time.  I don't picture getting out much before the new year but after that I should get out regularly.

John
