Gill pill question!
« on: Oct 28, 2013, 07:05 PM »
Hi guys im new to this forum.
I have a question about custom jigs and spins gill pill and diamond jig. I was wondering about the durability of the jig's finishes, will it last a good while? I would like to know  before i invest on these. Thank you?

Welcome
I have had no problems with the gill or diamond jig.  They seem to be a great quality.  I just ordered a bunch of their tungsten from cabelas. Will let you know on those mid season.

Very durable fairly high quality jigs. They've even pulled new/coming soon baits in the past since the product didn't meet acceptable specs and apologized before even trying to sell any. Solid company and products, they work, don't worry

Paint is pretty durable. In will last longer if you coat each jig with some CS Coatings Seal Coat.

The paint has lasted the longest on my CJ&S jigs compared to any others. That's one of the reasons I keep buying them...and they're out of IA.

i fish a lot of CJ&S stuff. only time I have had a problem with paint on one was letting a buddy borrow one of my combo rigs. He is the slowest man on a hookset I have ever seen and thus resulting in a lot of deep hooks. in one day he chipped up the paint pretty good using needle nose to get em out. I made him go buy me more lol.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

Coat them with a clear and you will have no problems. Also don't let them rattle around in your jig box. But that goes for anyone's jigs.

Great jigs and have been using them for a very long time without any signs of wear and tear. The gill pill has caught a lot of fish and is my go to when they are finicky.

i used to keep my jigs all rattling around in a box, but after three years of that, the CJ&S jigs all still had the factory finish while my other jigs were starting to flake.

the only time i ever chipped the paint on one was when i deep-hooked a trout and grabbed the jighead with the pliers instead of the hook, even then the paint only chipped a little and it hasn't gotten any worse since then.
