It's a fine place for trout and bass. There is a big spring right in front of and to the right of the boat ramp and it is very dangerous at early ice. Everybody walks right down off the ramp and sometimes I'm like about crapping myself watching from "safe" ice.

Yah its pretty sketchy ice right there. I fell through when I was a very young kid and learned the hard way. But was curious if anyones checked the ice lately. This warm spell wont help.

It's probably a couple days off with the rain today, but I wasn't trying to discourage you.

Drive by today in the rain, if I didn't know it was frozen I would say it
Looked wide open with the black ice and water on top. Could tell a few holes had been punched. May or may not hAve been fisheable. Typically there is plenty of ice even when the ramp is open but error on the side of caution given the weather conditions.

I'd think you'd be safe in most areas.

Songs that made the hit parade.
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.

And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again.

Didn't need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.

was there for a couple hrs yesterday afternoon..  Good Ice, about 8 in every where I drilled.  All the dink perch you could want, The bottom 3 ft of my flasher was covered a few times in 12 to 14 ft of water.  Marked some trout and missed a couple on the jaw jacker, 4-8ft under the ice.
