I'm thinking about going tomorrow or next day thanks for the help if you can. I know a lot of people don't say what works.

Green perch Hali jig. take the piece of $$$$ chain off n put on a green glow hook 3-4" under the hali with a little stronger leader. I've had those jumbos n walleye bend those hooks on the chains straight. Lost a nice walleye that way last year threw Every chain I had away.

I agree with you on the chains. The one nice thing is you never miss a bite though. Those thin hooks set every time. I like the action of the way the bait bounces with the chain too. They just need to make them out of titanium. I would pay 10 bucks a piece  ;D

I picked up a couple of the new Clam hali knock offs, I'm pretty impressed. I was fishing with a buddy up by kalispell and he landed a 6lb northern on one of my rods with that little chain hook buried in its snoot! The chain is visibly beefier, and the hooks have a colored/glow epoxy goober on em.

I checked out those jigs. I like the thought of a more stout chain. I've never lost a fish due to the chain on a Hali but they do seem like the links could let go. Any experience with that?

Broke a chain on a 7" kokanee up at Georgetown this weekend. Probably only used the Hali for a total of 30 minutes of fishing on a couple of trips. Safe to say I won't be trusting them any time soon.

Ive had really good luck with Maynards Gobi Jigger past couple of seasons.  Walleye especially.   Glow early and late, and silver and gold mid day.    Heavy too, get right on down.

Hey ice fisher's,

I have never been to canyon ferry before.

However, I live in the Kalispell area and have caught so many perch I have lost count.  I recommend that you use a jig called a demon jig.  I recommend this because its a glow jig that lights up very well in dark places.  Remember to add maggots :)

Also I use the green head one, but I am sure the others will work too.

Wish this small info will help, and hope ya catch the big one
