Flip Over Front Bar
« on: Dec 25, 2013, 08:05 AM »
I just bought a Jason Mitchell Thermal X that came assembled.  When I set it up for the first time, the front bar is 3" or so inches from the ground.  Any ideas how to adjust this so the bar drops to the ground.  Sorry, I know I've read a thread about this, but can't seem to find it.  Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that when you secure the tent to the base of the sled its important the frame hoops are in the proper/locked positions and the front hoop is on flat/level and then secure the tent to the tub/sled. I also recall that Cam stated the tent will shrink as posted by another IS member .

My Clam has an adjustable bar that comes down from the upper hoop to the ground hoop right by the door.  This gets adjusted last and lets you put pressure on both hoops. I usually put my foot on the ground hoop and press it to the ice while I extend this stabilizing rod and lock it into place.  Not sure if you have one? or could make one?

If you go to Clams web site they had a PDF of the instruction books that will show you how to adjust the front bar on the flip overs . A little time adjusting may be all it needs . I have had 3 older clam flip overs and each one needed a little tweaking . Good luck , Jake
