Clam tamarack.
« on: Dec 24, 2013, 04:12 PM »
Looking for a new hub shelter.  Frabill instaschak bit the dust, the hubs pulled through the fabric rendering it a pain in the a$$.  I spent $100 on the frabi, so I didn't have super high expectations.  Hoping the tamarack is a lite more durable. Thanks for any info guys!

This is my second year with the tamarack and I have no real complaints. The anchor system is a little weak but the material of the shanty seems durable and I stay very warm inside with my heater. Can't go wrong with the price.

When this happened to the very well crafted and designed clam command post of 3 seasons ago  ::) my dad used extra thick leather cuts as washers to limp it through the remainder of the season.  The leather job actually worked fantastic and the 4 hubs that pulled free made it through wonderfully... if only the skirt didn't rip off, windows disintegrate, black coating flake off, etc.
